If you’ve been wanting to get a better handle of VOPs in Houdini then the time has come! Adam Swaab is back with all new training devoted to VOPs. Eighteen chapters to get you up to speed with one of Houdini’s most powerful features. He even throws in some VEX to wet your appetite. This tutorial goes through the ins and outs of VOPS, going through many short examples to get you ready to harness the full power of VOPS. We also do a quick intro to pure coding in vex, as vex is the underlying language of VOPS. In the final […]
In this series of videos, Rohan Dalvi begins to recreate the Cinema 4D Mograph toolset. Here he begins with the Cloner Object.
This masterclass describes a new RPC feature introduced in Houdini Engine 2.0, called Thin Client. Thin Client extends the reach of Houdini Engine by moving Houdini simulations to a separate server process and helps to solve dependency problems, utilize multiple concurrent Houdini simulations, distribute computations on the network and integrate Houdini Engine with hosts on a wider variety of platforms.
In this tutorial I show you how freezing or ice effect can be created inside Houdini 15. There are many ways for creating this effect and this training shows one of the simplest methods. I hope you enjoy this… For more information please visit vfxhomeland.com
This masterclass provides an overview of several new features and improvements for crowd simulations in Houdini 15. This includes: tools for creating additional layers for an agent, rag doll simulations, material stylesheets, and many workflow improvements. Project files for this lesson are available at: bit.ly/1VJ3ZfQ
Ben Watts looks at creating a very organic effect that is useful for many things including the spreading of shader attributes, growing / joining polylines or even liquid growth style effects.
Houdini has supported distributed solvers since Houdini 10. This masterclass provides an overview of the current state of these solvers; including the new support for resizing smoke simulations and water tanks in Houdini 15. The first half demonstrates the setup of a variety of distributed effects using shelf tools and HQueue. The final bit dives into technicality and builds a new distributed setup via micro-solvers and manually invokes the tracker. Project files are available at: bit.ly/1IY48Vz
What is procedural modeling and animation anyways? Here is a great video to get you started in understand the Houdini workflow. Brought you by none other than Rohan Dalvi. This video aims to explain what exactly is Procedural modeling and animation and how it applies to Houdini.
Rohan Dalvi creates a disintegration effect in Houdini using an animated noise map along with some other useful tricks.
